Dasti & Staiger recently secured a significant appellate win, successfully defending a township in a complex contract dispute. The case centered on the enforceability of a settlement agreement between a municipality and a former employee.

In King v. Twp. of Barnegat, the Appellate Division agreed with the arguments of our attorneys and unanimously overturned the trial court’s decision. In doing so, the Appellate Division held that the municipality fully complied with its obligations under the terms of the agreement. Further, the court held that the agreement’s terms with clear, unambiguous and enforceable.

Managing Partner Christopher J. Dasti argued the case before the Appellate Division, and along with Associate Jeffrey D. Cheney, prepared the appellate briefs.
